wow its been a while since i updated! On duty this weekend at our diesel gala, and manage a few snaps on the Saturday during a couple of layovers at Rushcliffe Halt whilst secondmanning the 20.

Fantastic weather, shame about the failure that messed up the timetable!

Yes its been a while since i updated, its been a while since iv been out to any railway!!
A long overdue return to foxfield, missed last years gala, and learned from past mistake and spent the day at the colliery. Mixed weather unfortunately, but fantastic show. Thanks to Andy for driving up there.

Very briefly went to rudd to see our new loco. Its only working two carriages as thats all it can manage, and even then only just!!

Escape for half hour! Went to see Cromwell for the first time. Weather bit miserable, but sure we will meet again in better circumstances!

Popped in to Ruddington very briefly as it was lovely and sunny, and i hadnt seen our visitor yet!

Pictures from last weekends gala, has taken a while for me to get round to putting them on!! Good gala, weather wasnt fantastic but various journeys on the trains made up for that!!

Another good gala from GCR! Weather was on my side to begin with, some great shots! Shame the sun went in the afternoon, few pics suffered as a result. Overall a good day, though was a shame 4141 eluded me twice but iv two more years for that!

Went for a few pictures of the santas yesterday since we have got a nice little visiting loco! pics arent all that great, light was poor. But a little editing has cleared up the good ones.
Anyone in the local area (or otherwise) with children please note there are still spaces on this coming weekends remaining trains, they are fantastic for all the family, an opportunity not to be missed. for more info see the NTHC website (links section)

While away for a few days over October half term and staying in Haworth the opportunity to visit the KWVR just had to be taken! not much in the way of actual train shots most were taken in the yard at Haworth, but a few lucky instances, especially them pulling the WD out one morning!

Photos over the two days of our diesel gala, all on saturday bar the last two! Didnt get a huge amount as i was on duty whole time, shame as the weather was fantastic. Sods law as usual!!

Spent full day at the gala. Fantastic event, shame the weather was pretty lousy, some of my pics have suffered as a result! Done a few in black and white for nostalgic purposes, particularly the 1T57 recreation. Plus one of Lamiel as it covers up the bad quality of the picture abit!!

Day out at Nene Valleys gala, weather was ok but bit dull. Not many great shots, we never quite got the perfect location. Good thrash though!!

Spent few hours lineside between 50 steps and bridge 300 getting rid of some ragwort, and capturing D8048's first runs on GCRN since it came back!!

Half a day at GCR, great weather though. Good event, especially considering the line up.

Was invited up to Bury with Matt and George, couldnt refuse! fantastic event. weather was pretty chronic, despite it lookin good when we left! Little bit of sun as youl see, had we had that all day woul dhave been great! Some good rides were also had, notably the two 26's and the two Hydraulics, which were absolutely amazing!!! Now thats what i call Hellfire!

Havent had much chance to get these up this last week, so pretty much two collections at once this week, but a week apart in time!
Took a one-way ride to East Leake last Sunday from Ruddington, taking a few pictures of 20154 on its second passenger day on GCR(N). On its first i was Guarding!

Spent a weeks holiday in North Yorkshire, staying in a cottage about a mile from Levisham! so naturally i was down the station of somewhere else on the line whenever i could be! Although the weeks weather was good it was never great whenever i could get out to see the trains. Though at least i now have plenty of locations sussed for a return visit!

Finally got out to an event! weather disappointing, overcast and horrible most of the day, and sunday has been marvellous! aint that just typical! Good show by the GCR once again, unfortunately the 04 failed and was a shame the 27 wasnt given a few more turns but was nice to see the Prairie facing south again! Plenty of pictures, but probably not the best due to the weather, see for yourselves!

Many pictures from Yesterday spent at Loughborough for the GCR's winter Gala. With both Super D and Stanier Mogul visiting was quite an event!! Weather was bit variable but mostly good, just not sunny when you really wanted it to be!! Think i broke my record for sheer number of pictures! mostly due to the line up, and me using multiple shots at once, tried to not make it make it all to samey!!

Trip up to Cheddleton to see the K4 and Dicheat Manor in action, thanks matt! Weather wasnt great but stayed good enough. Bit overcast so the light wasnt great, especially at the end of the day! Overall a great day, got good use from the new camera. Collection picture sums up the day! and the reason 7821 should be renamed Vesuvius Manor!!!!

Wanted to test my new camera, fuji S5600, so went for a walk near Great central. The 8F and the Prairie were operating the services. Didnt go quite as id planned it and some shots arnt that good, which is a little disapointing but il put it down to me not being very gud with my new equipment yet!!!

Class 31 D5613 (31190) was used on the NTHC santas this weekend. few pictures from today, weather wasnt great so sorry bout the quality! fear not, last pictures before the new camera!!

Few slightly random pics. Two of the 31 at Ruddington, taken in case that was the last chance i get to see it! Also few from today, popped in for a few mins to Loughborough to snap couple of services!

Railtour came into Rushcliffe Halt from the mainline hauled top and tailed by class 67 no 67019 and class 60 no 60013 'Robert Boyle'. Was then piloted to 50s steps by our 25 D7629. Heres a few picture from the event, which was first diesel railtour into the GCR(N) and we think the first time a mainline diesel tour has been piloted on heritage railway metals by its own loco! Few other records dicussed included someone being the first passenger to alight at rushcliffe halt from london in 40 years! not to mention the most passengers rushcliffe halt has ever seen..

Finally an update!! Hectic month or so, havent been able to get any pics unfortunately, and now getting back into it ive missed the autumn gala season!! O well. Popped in at Loughborough as the conditions were great! both locos faced north however so didnt get the results id hoped for. Had to be more arty in some cases instead, so some interesting results, see what you think!
